To share files from OneDrive with users outside of IU, use either Specific people and send the link through the Share button to the external email addresses, or use the Anyone with the link option. Once you've selected the desired options and/or entered email addresses, click Send if going through the Share option, or send the link to collaborators as needed if you copied an existing link. Specific people: This is the same as the default setting.People with existing access: This option will generate a link without actually adding more collaborators.People in Indiana University with the link.
Anyone with the link: If you need to share the link with people outside of IU, this may be the best option, but you should only use it for data classified as Public data. To change this, click that option and select any of the following: In the window that appears, by default, the option People in Indiana University with the link can edit will be selected. Alternatively, hover over the file or folder, and then click the arrow icon. To share files and folders, select the file or folder that you wish to share, and then click either Share or Copy link at the top of the page. You can only share subfolders or files within the Documents folder. You cannot share the Documents folder directly (unless you grant access to the entire team see the note above). Select the site that has the folder or file you want to share, and then click Documents. Use SharePoint: Navigate to /_layouts/15/sharepoint.aspx and log in. On the action bar at the top, click Open in SharePoint. Open the channel containing the folder or file you want to share, and select the Files tab. 
Use Microsoft Teams: Open Microsoft Teams and navigate to the appropriate team. Navigate to the folder or file you wish to share. , and then click the OneDrive (cloud) icon. Use OneDrive: Log into Microsoft 365 at IU. To navigate to content that you wish to share, if you're sharing from your personal OneDrive, use the first method below if you're sharing Microsoft Teams content, use any of the methods. For more, see Collaborate in Microsoft Teams at IU with external contacts. If they don't already have one, the guest user will have to create a Microsoft account using their email address. If you would like the documentation from your personal OneDrive account moved to your SU OneDrive account you will need to download the documentation from your personal OneDrive account, login to your SU OneDrive account at, and upload the documentation to your SU OneDrive account.To share all contents of a Microsoft team with an external user, you'll need to add the external user to the team as a guest. You will now login to your personal OneDrive account with the personal email address you have changed to.
Once you have added a new non-SU email address select Remove(see photo in step 4 above) and remove the SU email address from your personal OneDrive profile. If you do not have another email to use select Create a new email address and add it as an alias however if you have a personal email address you would like to use select Add an existing email address as a Microsoft account alias.Ħ. From your profile information screen select Manage how you sign in to Microsoft to the right of your email addressĥ.
Select your profile using the circle at the top right corner and choose My profile from the drop down menuģ. Sign in to using the previous Microsoft account set up with your SU email address. You previously signed up for a personal OneDrive account using your SU email address and cannot sign in to your SU OneDrive account. If you have previously signed up for a personal OneDrive account using your SU email address you will need to remove your SU email address from your personal OneDrive account and use an alternate personal email address.
